Ocean Symposium 2005:
“Our Oceans, Our Future:
Linking land, people, and seas”
Introduction
The Ocean Symposium was held in the US Army Reserve on Tutuila Island, American
Samoa. The Symposium provided a forum for a wide-range of stakeholders, policy
makers, and managers to share, discuss, and work to resolve issues relevant to
our ocean and coastal areas. The symposium strived to increase environment
stewardship among the community and to foster partnership between national,
regional, local and federal government as well as intra-agencies and
non-governmental organizations.
